General Director Letter

Dear supporters of Faith Bible Camp,

We are now less than two months away from the 2022 Faith Bible Camp season! There is a great deal of work in preparing the campsite and the program planning to come over these next two months. Please continue to keep FBC in your prayers as the 2022 season approaches.

Please pray for the staff as they prepare to serve in various capacities throughout the summer. We thank the Lord for providing dedicated and qualified staff for most positions each week. However, areas of an urgent need for our camp to fully function this summer remain. This includes a Lifeguard we need to hire for eight weeks of camp sessions in July and August. If you or someone you know has a passion for caring for children and keeping them safe as they enjoy swimming and waterfront activities, this is a great opportunity! Individuals at least 17 years of age in possession of a current lifeguard certificate and First Aid/CPR can apply by contacting our camp office or online on our website.

Another crucial area of need is Male and Female Cabin Leaders for Sr. Teens from August 22-27. We currently only have one each and five female campers on a waitlist. Please prayerfully consider serving in this role and pass this on to family and friends. Please refer to our updated staff needs sheet for details on all our openings. If you are interested in serving, please apply online at faithbiblecamp.org

Young Adult Retreat: Exciting news! We have added a Young Adult Retreat for 18+ to our summer schedule! Please join us June 24-26 during this fun, spiritually uplifting, and relaxing weekend together. The cost is only $75, and it is sure to be a great kick-off to a fantastic summer. Please register at faithbiblecamp.org.

We recognize that many workers sacrifice their time and finances by volunteering during the summer. This is especially true of students but certainly not limited to them. In recognition of this fact, the Staff Sponsorship Program is made available to a limited number of eligible participants. I am pleased to say that we have numerous young people who have been accepted to participate in this program in 2022. They will soon be sending out support letters to family, friends, and supporters, asking for prayer and financial support as they serve this summer. I invite you to consider how you may support our young people should you receive a letter. If you don’t receive a personal letter but would like to contribute to our fund, please contact me at the camp office for details on how you can do so.

Please also pray for the directors and speakers for each camp session as God leads and instructs them as they plan and seek the Lord’s wisdom and direction. We have had excellent meetings with many of our directors over the past year and will be having a speaker meeting later this week.

Continue to pray for campers to have their hearts prepared by God to receive the Gospel this summer and commit to trust Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. There are still openings for each camp session, and we would love to have these filled to as close to capacity as possible. You can conveniently register online at faithbiblecamp.org to confirm a spot. We pray that campers of all ages would respond to the truth of Christ being our hope of salvation. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” John 3:16-17

A reminder of important dates to mark on your calendars:

Prayer Gathering: In conjunction with the Day of Prayer for Camp on May 29, we invite everyone to join us for an FBC prayer gathering on June 1 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Charleswood Community Church. This evening will be an opportunity for people to gather to hear about some of our camp's needs and pray for wisdom and guidance as we finalize plans for the 2022 summer of ministry. If you can't attend at Charleswood, we invite you to spend some time praying for our camp either individually, as a family, or at your Wednesday evening service.

Pastry Day: We can no longer have pie crusts or cookies made outside of a commercial kitchen. We are looking to gather people together to make pie crusts and cookies for this summer at our campsite on Saturday, June 4, beginning at 9:00 a.m., but please come anytime that day. Please let us know when you plan to go so we can prepare. We appreciate any help we can get, so if you can only come for 1 hour or stay for the day, anything is helpful. Lunch will be provided. If you would like to join us, please email Angie Bartley at anj.bartley@gmail.com.

Work Bees: There are two to help to get the campsite ready. We invite you and your family and friends to join us on Saturday, May 28 and June 18. Lunch is provided, and this is an excellent opportunity to serve the Lord together. Please RSVP on our website or by contacting the office so we can prepare.
